This is the image for the news article titled York Tech invites local legislatorsYork Tech hosted PA Schools Work, a nonpartisan coalition of educators, parents and community members who advocate for public schools. The event's speakers included Deb Rohrbaugh, Associate Director of Kinsley Education Center, Kari King, President and CEO of PA Partnerships for Children and Dr. David Thomas, Director of York County School of Technology. The event highlighted the PA Schools Work report, "Skilled Workers Needed: Ensuring Investments in Career and Technical Education."

The report highlights the importance of Career and Technical Education (CTE) to Pennsylvania's economic development, stressing how critical CTE is in preparing students with on-the-job skills without the burden of tuition and training costs. It was noted during the conference that inconsistent funding of CTE results in limited access to technical education for students. With the help of policymakers to receive more funding, a lesser burden could be placed on sending school districts to send students to CTE centers.
