We are excited to announce our summer 2019 Career Camp dates and curriculum!

In the three-day camp held June 11, 12 and 13, current 6th and 7th graders from our 14 sending school districts in York County will have an opportunity to experience hands-on activities in a number of technical career pathways. Applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first served basis beginning January 1, 2019. Seats fill up quickly; please act now if you are interested in signing up!

There is no cost for the program. All Supplies and materials are provided! Breakfast and lunch are included at no cost to the participant.



Free transportation will be provided from the school district’s middle school.  A bus schedule will be mailed to each participant with the confirmation of registration.


All 6th & 7th grade students living in the following school districts are eligible to apply:  Central, Dallastown, Dover, Eastern, Hanover, Northeastern, Red Lion, South Eastern, South Western, Southern, Spring Grove, West York, York City and York Suburban.



Students will indicate their top six technical area selections and two alternatives on the Career Camp 2019 application. We provide a brief description of each technical area below for your convenience.


MEDICAL PROFESSIONS: Injuries, illness, disease. What can you do? Learn healthcare skills to help yourself and others.

SPORTS TECH AND EXERCISE SCIENCE: Learn about the exciting opportunities in the sports and exercise health field!

AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY: Students will learn hands on basics to keep cars running fast and loud!

POWER SPORTS AND ENGINE TECHNOLOGY: Students will explore motorcycle repair as they learn how to diagnose, test, and repair equipment.

ELECTRICAL OCCUPATIONS: Students will explore electrical occupations, with an opportunity to complete a residential wiring project.

CARPENTRY AND CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY: Students will safely use hand and power tools to construct a small wooden project.

COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY: Students will explore television production, photography, and graphic design in an introduction to Communications Technology.

CULINARY ARTS: Have a taste of the skill set required to become the next top chef! Bon appétit!

WELDING AND METAL FABRICATION: Explore an action packed welding career, with opportunities such as welding, cutting and metal fabrication.

PRECISION METAL MACHINING: Create something new, use your imagination and your hands to create. Think Precision Metal Machining.

ENGINEERING AND ADVANCED MANUFACTURING: Will your design work? Design, build, and test your ideas in Engineering! 

CRIMINAL JUSTICE: Learn what it takes to protect and serve your community, our country and the world!

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION: Attention class! Have what it takes to educate our future generations? Try Early Childhood Education!

LICENSED COSMETOLOGY: If you have an interest in creating hairstyles, experimenting with makeup and designing nails, Licensed Cosmetology is the program for you!

ELECTRONICS/IT REPAIR: Experience how to design, troubleshoot and repair the highly technical devices that run our world!

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: Learn the skills to keep up with the programmers, networkers, gamers and security professionals in the IT industry!
